Iroquois Avenue Waterline & Roadway Replacement Project
Iroquois Avenue Waterline & Roadway Replacement Project is tentatively scheduled to start on 07/21/2025. SD Ireland Brothers Corporation will be replacing the existing waterline along Iroquois Avenue from South Summit Street to the Orchard Terrace intersection. In addition, the project includes the full reconstruction of the roadway from South Summit Street to Orchard Terrace, as well as the repaving of the roadway from Orchard Terrace to Park Street.
Throughout construction, we will be sending out daily emails about the progress and anticipated schedule as they may relate to access and disruptions to the adjacent properties. An initial email will be sent during the week of July 14th as a reminder of the July 21st start date.
To receive daily project email updates that will include information about the project status and project scheduling, please send an email requesting to be added to the project email distribution list to the following email address: IroquoisAve@. dlhce.com
Daily Project Update: 9/17/2025
Today, the Contractor connected the new waterline to the existing waterline along Cherokee Avenue, as well as installed a new hydrant at the corner of Algonquin Avenue and Cherokee Avenue. They also backfilled multiple water service connections along Iroquois Avenue.
Today’s work required a water shutdown for 101-108 Cherokee Avenue. Thank you for your patience for those of you affected by today’s water service interruption.
Tomorrow, the Contractor will make the connection of the new waterline to the existing waterline along Orchard Terrace Cul-De-Sac. If they have time, they may backfill the remaining water services that were connected on Monday along Iroquois Avenue.
The intersection of Iroquois Avenue and Algonquin Avenue is closed. A detour is set up along Orchard Terrace to direct traffic around the work area. For the residents of Abnaki Avenue, Cherokee Avenue, Algonquin Avenue, and from 101-110 Iroquois Avenue, please use the South Summit Street entrance to access your residence.
Tomorrow, there will be a water service shutdown for 31-41 Orchard Terrace. The water shutdown will begin around 10:00 AM and will last between 4-6 hours. The City engineer will knock on your doors before the water shutdown.
The Contractor provides their best prediction of their next work cycle. Please keep in mind that construction is a fluid process and sometimes plans must change based upon weather, conditions found in the field, or other factors.
If you know of anyone who might be interested in receiving these daily updates, please share this email address with them so that they may request to be added to the contact list. We would be pleased to add additional people to the project email list, IroquoisAve@. dlhce.com
