Main Street Sidewalk Replacement Project
Today the Contractor installed the new underdrain piping, backfilled the new underdrain, and installed gravel subbase in preparation to install sidewalk forms in front of the cemetery at 34 Main Street.
Tomorrow the Contractor will install more gravel subbase and underdrain piping, along with sidewalk forms in front of the cemetery at 34 Main Street. They will stop at the sidewalk ramp crossing at the Church Street intersection. If they have time, they may remove the existing sidewalk and install new gravel in the remaining half of the Second Gen Auto driveway.
Now that the Contractor has installed seed and hay mulching, I will ask residents to please water your lawns to help the grass growth.
Tomorrow Main Street may be reduced to alternating one-way traffic while equipment or material is being delivered or removed from the site. Traffic control will be in-place to help direct traffic.
The contractor provides the best prediction of their next work cycle. Please keep in mind that construction is a fluid process, and sometimes plans must change based on weather, conditions found in the field, or other factors.
