Railroad Avenue Waterline Replacement Project
Today the Contractor installed base course pavement along Railroad Avenue from the Central Street intersection to the Lincoln Place intersection. They also took the second round of water samples for bacteria testing.
Tomorrow if weather permits, the Contractor will continue excavating existing material from the waterline trench and install gravel along Railroad Avenue.
Tomorrow the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Lincoln Place will be closed. Residents of Lincoln Place should park along Railroad Avenue.
The contractor provides the best prediction of their next work cycle. Please keep in mind that construction is a fluid process, and sometimes plans must change based on weather, conditions found in the field, or other factors.
Throughout construction, we will send daily emails about progress and the anticipated schedule, as they may relate to access and disruptions to adjacent properties. For general questions or to receive daily project email updates, please email RailroadAveWaterline@dlhce.com to request to be added to the project email distribution list.
Main Street Sidewalk Replacement Project
Tomorrow if weather permits, the Contractor will mobilize more equipment, set up traffic control, sawcut asphalt, and continue general preparation to start the Main Street Sidewalk Replacement Project.
Today I spoke with the Contractor, and they still plan on starting on the South side of Main Street, at the Pleasant Street intersection, working their way West towards Railroad Street. They will start removing existing sidewalk on Monday.
Tomorrow Main Street may be reduced to alternating one-way traffic while equipment and materials are being unloaded at the site. Traffic control will be in-place to help direct traffic.
