Main Street Sidewalk Replacement Project
Today the Contractor excavated existing material, installed new gravel, and installed the sidewalk forms for the private sidewalks leading to residences and businesses between Church Street and Grove Street. They also finished sawcutting joints in the new sidewalk, and continued work on the underdrain.
Tomorrow the Contractor will continue work on the new underdrain, installing gravel and sidewalk forms, and sawcutting joints in the new sidewalk. If they have time and weather permits, the Contractor may pour the private sidewalks they formed today.
Now that the Contractor has installed seed and hay mulching, we ask residents to please water their lawns to help the grass grow.
Tomorrow, Main Street may be reduced to alternating one-way traffic while equipment or material is being delivered or removed from the site. Traffic control will be in place to help direct traffic.
The contractor provides the best prediction of their next work cycle. Please keep in mind that construction is a fluid process, and sometimes plans must change based on weather, conditions found in the field, or other factors.
