The City of Essex Junction Railroad Avenue Waterline Replacement Project is tentatively scheduled to start on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Don Weston Excavating, Inc. will be installing a new waterline along Railroad Avenue from Central Street to Main Street. They will also connect the new waterline to the existing waterline along Lincoln Place.
Work to install the new waterline in the Central Street and Railroad Avenue intersection will take place between 8 AM and 4 PM on Tuesday, May 26. To complete this work, it will be necessary to temporarily shut down water service along Central Street between Lincoln Street and Grove Street. The Contractor will work to minimize the duration of the water service interruption.
Central Street will be closed to northbound traffic from Lincoln Street to Grove Street. One-way traffic will be allowed on Central Street from Grove Street to Lincoln Street. Railroad Avenue will be closed between Central Street and Lincoln Place. Traffic control will be in place to help direct traffic.
