The City is inviting residents to participate in shaping the future of zoning regulations in the City through the Connect the Junction Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Draft Master Plan.
The Master Plan focuses on several critical areas, including addressing the housing shortage, improving transportation infrastructure, and creating welcoming public spaces. City officials are particularly interested in public opinions regarding:
- Building Heights: Increases in building height limits to allow for more home choices in the City Center and along the Pearl Street corridor, which are both among the City’s most convenient, connected neighborhoods.
- Transportation at Five Corners: Proposed changes to traffic patterns at the Five Corners intersection aimed at reducing wait times for all road users and enhancing bike and pedestrian connectivity.
- Public Spaces: Ideas for developing more areas for gathering and socializing within the community.
Since the beginning of summer, the City has been collecting feedback through community events and an online Open House. A mobile-friendly survey has also been launched to make it easier for residents to share their thoughts and experiences.
The Open House and survey deadline has been extended and will now be available until October 20. Residents are encouraged to visit ConnectTheJunction.org to access these resources.
Residents are encouraged to take this opportunity to contribute their opinions, which will play a vital role in the development of zoning regulations.
