Updates

Today the Contractor final paved Cherokee Avenue and Algonquin Avenue. They started to mill South Summit Street, however the milling machine broke and they were unable to complete the work today. The Contractor also installed sidewalk forms in preparation to pour concrete.

Tomorrow the Contractor will work to final pave Iroquois Avenue and the South Summit Street entrance of Iroquois Avenue. A separate crew will be on site to pour new sidewalk at the approaches to Iroquois Avenue. Any remaining paving work that is not completed tomorrow, will occur on Friday.

The paving crew will begin by paving side street approaches to Iroquois Avenue and the intersection of South Summit Street and Iroquois Avenue. They will then pave a shim coat along the portion of Iroquois Avenue between Orchard Terrace and Park Street. To finish off the paving they will do one continuous run from South Summit Street down to Park Street.

Tomorrow South Summit Street will be closed from approximately 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM for milling and final paving. A detour will be set up via Cherokee Avenue and Abnaki Avenue to direct traffic around the work area. Flaggers will be present to aid in directing traffic.

Tomorrow Orchard Terrace Cul-De-Sac and Nicholas Court will be closed for approximately 1-2 hours as the new pavement cools and hardens. The closure will take place on the final paving run from South Summit Street to Park Street. The City engineer will knock on your door before the closure to make sure your vehicles are out prior to the work.

Tomorrow, driveways along Iroquois Avenue will be closed for approximately 1-2 hours as the new pavement cools and hardens. The City engineer will knock on your door before the closure to make sure your vehicles are out prior to the work.

Tomorrow the Iroquois Avenue and Orchard Terrace intersection will be closed. A detour is set up via South Street to direct traffic around the work area.

The contractor provides their best prediction of their next work cycle. Please keep in mind that construction is a fluid process and sometimes plans must change based upon weather, conditions found in the field, or other factors.
