The City Council will hold a School Supply and Snack Drive on Tuesday, September 15th, at the City Offices at 2 Lincoln Street, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, to benefit Essex CHIPS. The drive also falls on the same day property tax payments are due, making it a convenient time for residents to give back while handling their municipal business.
The drive aims to collect essential school supplies and nutritious snacks for students at Essex CHIPS. Community members can donate items such as notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, mechanical pencils and lead, highlighters, colored pencils, markers, glue sticks, and more. Healthy snacks like granola bars, protein bars, nuts, dried fruit, applesauce pouches, fruit cups, whole-grain crackers, beef or turkey sticks, and juice boxes are also greatly appreciated. Grocery store gift cards will also be accepted.
Beyond supporting students, the event offers residents an opportunity to connect with their City Council, ask questions, and learn more about ongoing community initiatives.
