Essex Junction Recreation & Parks invites the community to celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th birthday at the annual Essex Junction Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Champlain Valley Fairgrounds Midway Lawn.
The festivities begin at 6:00 PM and feature an evening full of free family fun, live entertainment, delicious food, and one of Essex Junction's favorite summer traditions.
Guests can enjoy:

- Airbrush tattoos
- Color dip activities
- Mini golf
- Games and family activities
- And much more
All activities are free and open to the public.
A variety of local food vendors will be on-site throughout the evening, including:

The celebration will conclude with the singing of the National Anthem immediately before the fireworks show. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:30 PM, lighting up the Essex Junction sky in celebration of our nation's independence.
“The Fourth of July is one of my favorite events of the year because it brings our community together,” said Mark Brislin, Director of Essex Junction Recreation & Parks. “Whether you’re coming for the music, food, activities, or fireworks, there’s something for everyone. As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, we’re excited to welcome families and friends for a great night in Essex Junction.”
Admission and parking are free. Food, beverages, and novelty items will be available for purchase. Police, fire, and rescue personnel will be on-site to help ensure a safe and enjoyable event for all attendees.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and arrive early to enjoy the activities, entertainment, and food vendors before the fireworks begin.
