What? Annual Dog Registration (licensing)

Why? Required by State Statute for all dogs over 6 months of age (20 V.S.A. § 3581)

When? January 1 – April 1

Where? City Clerk’s office, 2 Lincoln Street

Cost? $13 if your dog is spayed or neutered, $17 if your dog is intact

Where does the money go? $7.00 of the fee collected for each license is sent to the State of Vermont; $3.00 for the State rabies control program and administration of State animal welfare laws, as well as $4.00 for the State spay/neuter program. 

The local share retained by the city helps support the animal control officer, dog par,k and licensing administration.
