Crescent Connector Roadway Project

Completed in Fall 2024, the Crescent Connector extends Railroad Street between Park Street and Maple Street, creating a new multimodal route with sidewalks, bike lanes, and traffic signals. The project improves connectivity and helps reduce congestion around the Five Corners area.

2025 Land Development Code Amendments

Adopted by City Council in February 2025, these amendments updated the City’s zoning regulations with technical fixes and targeted changes. Updates included revised sign regulations, adjustments to residential density and small-scale development standards, stormwater regulations, and food truck rules.

Rental Housing Registry and Inspection Program

In 2024, City Council reviewed a proposed Rental Housing Registry and Inspection Program focused on renter safety, rental housing inventory, and landlord support. After public hearings, the ordinance was not adopted, and the City did not move forward with implementation at that time.

2023 Land Development Code Amendments

Adopted in June 2023 and effective July 2023, these major zoning amendments modernized the Land Development Code to support housing production, improve design and historic preservation standards, add flexibility for parking, and strengthen bicycle parking and green stormwater infrastructure requirements.
