Proper planting of trees is critical to their long-term health and viability. Join Burlington City Arborist V.J. Comai as he takes us through the key steps in planting a tree. This talk will be held at the Public Works Building at 645 Pine Street, Burlington, VT. on Thursday, April 6, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Guests from nearby towns are welcome to attend.

This talk will cover basic tree biology, site assessment, species selection, various planting options, and the pros and cons of each, as well as best planting practices and aftercare throughout the establishment period.

With over 30 years of experience planting and maintaining trees, V.J. has seen it all. This presentation will help you avoid common mistakes that lead to premature tree failure and will ensure that the trees you plant will be your gift to posterity. V.J. will also discuss the state of Burlington's urban forest and highlight recent work completed in Burlington and plans for the future.

This event is brought to you by the Essex Junction Tree Advisory Committee, Branch Out Burlington!, and the Burlington Parks, Recreation and Waterfront.
