The City is making significant strides in its rebranding efforts as it works to establish a new brand identity that reflects the character of our vibrant community, resonates with our residents and businesses, and attracts visitors from near and far. In collaboration with Place Creative Company, the City has been actively engaging residents and local stakeholders in a branding process launched earlier this year.

In June, the City contracted Place Creative Company to spearhead the development of a new brand identity. This initiative gained momentum in July, when the Rebranding Committee participated in a Discovery Session designed to set a shared understanding of our vision and project goals. During this session, the Committee reviewed brands that inspired them, explored different types of logos, wrote Google reviews for the City, and discussed the City's brand persona.

Following this foundational work, the City launched a community survey in September as part of the Meet Me on Main events. This two-week survey period garnered 272 responses from both online and in-person participants. The feedback collected will play a crucial role in shaping the City’s new brand identity. Residents can view a summary of the survey results on the Rebranding Project webpage.

To guide the creative process, Place Creative Company has developed a Project Brief that outlines the project scope and highlights valuable insights gathered from the Discovery Session and community survey feedback. The Project Brief has been reviewed by the City Council, the Rebranding Committee, and City Department Heads, and it is available for public viewing on the Rebranding webpage.

Place will now begin crafting brand identity options, which will be presented to the Rebranding Committee this November. Following this presentation, the identity options will be shared with the City Council for feedback. The Committee will engage in a rigorous revision process, where they will refine the selected concept through five rounds of feedback before final approval by the City Council.

The anticipated timeline for the upcoming steps includes:

  • November: Presentation of identity options to the Committee and City Council, followed by initial feedback.
  • December - January: Continued rounds of feedback and refinement.
  • February: Final approval of the new brand identity by the Committee and City Council.

Please note that this timeline may change based on the complexity of the revisions.
