Mandigo has been a long-standing member of GMWEA and actively participates in several subcommittees, including the Continuing Education Committee, where she plays a vital role in organizing technical sessions for the association's spring and fall conferences and special training events, such as a tour of Deer Island, Boston's wastewater treatment facility.
In addition, Mandigo serves on the Governance Affairs Committee, where she monitors and advocates for important state and federal legislation that affects water quality professionals. She is also a vital member of the Residuals Committee, focusing on biosolids management.
The outgoing President selects the recipient of the President's Award based on their contributions to the association and its membership.
