Tree Damage from The January Wind Storms

January saw two storms with winds gusting to nearly 70mph. The conifer trees, such as pines and spruce were the most affected and some of these trees were uprooted due to saturated soils and a shallow root system. Other trees lost large limbs and branches.

Winter is a great time to hire an arborist to prune your trees. Pruning will aid in the health of a tree, limit damage from future storms, and increase its longevity.

The City Tree Committee recommends this resource for information on caring for your trees and choosing an arborist.
