Residents of Essex Junction have an exciting opportunity to engage with their community by applying for open positions on various local committees. The City of Essex Junction is actively seeking residents interested in contributing to local governance and making a difference in their community. As a committee member, you will collaborate with fellow residents and City staff to develop recommendations for the City Council on important community issues. Committee members are required to attend regular meetings and will gain valuable experience in leadership and public service. Each committee position also offers a stipend of $50 per meeting.
The committees with openings include the
- Bike/Walk Advisory Committee,
- Capital Program Review Committee,
- Development Review Board,
- Planning Commission,
- Tree Advisory Committee,
- Governance Committee,
- Moderator, and
- Tree Farm Management Group.
Interested individuals can apply for committee positions through an online application form. When applying, applicants are encouraged to explain their motivation for joining, share relevant educational background and experiences, and outline their goals for their term on the committee.
