Learn to incorporate play and center attachment in your parenting with Carolynn Nagao Marcotte, LICSW and Katie Wessels, LICSW, Play Therapists at Champlain Center for Play Therapy and Family Counseling. Have fun playing with your children while promoting positive mental health. There's play and then there's therapeutic play! What makes playing the Theraplay® way different and special? These playful interactions are designed to be therapeutic in nature and strengthen the parent-child relationship. Join us for a dynamic 2-hour workshop designed to introduce parents to the core principles of the Theraplay® model—a relationship-based approach that builds strong, healthy parent-child connections through structured play and emotional attunement. Parents will learn practical therapeutic skills rooted in the four dimensions of Theraplay®: Structure, Engagement, Nurture, and Challenge. Through interactive activities and guided discussion, this workshop empowers caregivers with tools to enhance emotional bonding, increase trust, and support their child’s social and emotional development in everyday moments. This workshop is offered at no charge due to generous grant support from the Vermont Early Childhood Fund. Join us for an engaging and informative session!
