Ballots, Annual Newsletter, & Annual Report

The City Council voted to mail ballots to all active voters for the April 9 elections. Residents do not need to request absentee/early ballots. Ballots have been mailed, and you can check the status of your ballot at https://mvp.vermont.gov/. The City Clerk is encouraging residents to turn in early voting ballots by Friday, April 5, due to the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8.

  1. To vote in person, bring your ballot with you to your polling place. You will need to check in, and then you can deposit your marked ballot in the vote tabulator. If you do not have your ballot, you will need to complete an affidavit before one can be handed to you.
  2. To vote by mail, complete the certificate envelope by signing the certificate. The ballot must be returned inside the signed certificate envelope in order to be counted. DO NOT SIGN THE BALLOT ITSELF OR MAKE ANY IDENTIFYING MARKS ON THE BALLOT. If you make a mistake, you can bring your ballot to the City Clerk’s office and get a replacement ballot.
  3. Return your ballot by mail, to the City Clerk’s office at 2 Lincoln St by April 8, or deliver directly to your polling place on April 9 before the polls close at 7 PM. If returning your ballot by mail, please allow ample time for mail delivery.

If you have questions about voting, call the city clerk's office at 878-6944, option 7, or email clerks@essexjunction.org.

The Annual Newsletter has also been mailed. This year’s newsletter contains a letter from the City Council president, the ballot articles explained, the City warning, and the budget summary. The annual report is also available to view online. You can find the link below. If you would like a printed copy mailed to you, please provide your name and mailing address to admin@ essexjunction.org or call the City Office at 802-878-6944.
