Interview with Susan Cline Lucey, Owner
Evolution Prenatal & Family Yoga Center is one of the newest additions to the Village business scene. I popped in to see Susan Cline Lucey, the owner and one of the yoga teachers, on a brisk fall afternoon. Susan is a warm and friendly person who made me feel right at home at her new studio. Evolution Prenatal & Family Yoga Center consists of an entire building on Lincoln Street and contains a large yoga studio, comfortable classroom space, a kitchen area, and a small play area. Susan also showed me the second yoga space which is under construction on the lower level. It is difficult to believe that this building housed a woodworking studio just a few short months ago.
The studio has everything the yoga-loving family could desire. Classes are offered seven days a week and include pre and postnatal yoga, childbirth and breastfeeding educational classes, infant yoga & massage, and yoga for kids of all ages. Susan was especially excited to highlight the kids’ yoga classes and assured me that my rambunctious three-year-old would be right at home in a class. Susan is a mom of three children and understands how difficult scheduling activities can be for parents. Therefore, all of the kids’ classes offer unlimited makeup sessions. Families can drop into any class in their child’s age group for the makeup, either at the Burlington or Essex Junction locations.
Here is what one new mom had to say about the studio, “This is my happy place! From childbirth and breastfeeding classes to pre and postnatal yoga classes, I've learned so much in that space that has helped me get in tune with my body and my baby. Beyond the exercise and education, I have also enjoyed connecting with other new moms at playgroup. No matter what kind of day I'm having I always feel better after being at the studio.”
