Essex Memorial Day Parade

Saturday, May 25, 2024 

Parade leaves the fairgrounds by St. James Church on Route 2A at 10:00a.m.

The pre-parade program begins at 9:30a.m. at the 5 Corners and features the placing of the wreaths in Veterans’ Memorial Park, as well as recognition of our Grand Marshals, patriotic music, student essay readings, and more.

The parade is emceed and announced from the 5 Corners.

The parade’s theme is “All Gave Some, Some Gave All.” 

Join us to see civic organizations, businesses, non-profits, families, friends, bands, and sports/school groups who have created a float, formed a marching group, recruited a bike brigade, or are showing off a fire truck, tractor, motorcycle, or old car.

Seeking Parade Participants & Nominations for Grand Marshals

The committee is now accepting applications for participation in the parade. We alway welcome new participants. A link to the parade participation application can be found here https://forms.gle/p8eAJez8kSEkJ5Ne6 and is available until May 5.

The committee is also seeking nominations for Grand Marshals. The committee will select up to three Grand Marshals that will be honored, will lead the parade, be celebrated at the pre-parade program at the 5 Corners, and be recognized in local media. Grand Marshal nominees must have served in the country’s armed forces and must live in Essex or have a strong connection to the Essex community.
