Young Adult Library Assistant
Brownell Library in Essex Junction, Vermont seeks applications for a Young Adult Library Assistant. This position encourages young adults to become lifelong library users by promoting library services and collections. Primary responsibilities include developing and supervising young adult participation at the Library; planning and implementing programs appropriate to young adults, recruiting and supervising teen volunteers, and working at the Circulation Desk. This position works an average of 24 hours a week, including Wednesday and Friday evenings and every other Saturday.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline, plus two years of experience working with youth, preferably in a library environment, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

EJRP is seeking a kid enthusiast with a passion for working with preschoolers and kindergarteners – who has a desire to infuse their day with positivity and play. Serving in a full-time, year-round capacity, 65% of this position will involve planning for and leading our kindergarten afterschool site at Maple Street Park. Throughout the school year, you will supervise 40 kids and 4 support staff from 3-6p.m., engaging kids in a quality, enrichening, and active program. Providing daily transport by driving our small, 30-passenger bus is required (must be willing to get CDL). In the summer, you will serve as an assistant director at our 120-kid summer day camp. The other 35% of this position is serving as a preschool assistant teacher in the mornings in our 3/4 and 4/5 classrooms. You will support children’s social and emotional growth by being a kind, caring, and engaging teacher. Pay is $18.41/hour.
