All Aboard for Downtown Essex Junction - Recommendations Submitted for Consideration
There will be a presentation at the Trustees' 5/22/12 meeting on the final alignment of the Crescent Connector and Railroad Street Alternatives.
The regional transportation planning agency (CCMPO) which approves all major road projects in Chittenden County released its “scoping study” for the Crescent Connector, the proposed bypass around Five Corners. The study shows where the new road will go and gives traffic projections for Five Corners with and without the road. People interested in community development may find the study helpful in understanding all the details that must be considered when planning road and infrastructure projects. Besides traffic flow, the study looks at historic buildings that might be affected by the project, environmental impacts, railroad right of ways, and hazardous waste sites.
