Construction on the Crescent Connector project will restart on Monday, April 15, 2024.

The contractor plans to close the Maple Street Driveway to the Bailey Spring and Chassis parking lot at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15, and open the access to the parking lot from Park Street at this same time. This means significant changes will be made to site access for the businesses in the vicinity of Bailey Spring and Chassis, including the residences and businesses located at 15 Maple (Bailey Spring and Chassis Building) and 11 Maple (Mason Brothers Salvage, Brothers Furniture, Five Corners Antiques, and Jay Mechanical). Access to these addresses is usually from Maple Street. Starting at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, access will be from Park Street, utilizing the new section of roadway. The Maple Street driveway will be closed at this time.

Access from Park Street will not be available for through traffic to Maple Street, and signs will be posted stating this. Please do not use the new roadway unless you are going to one of the businesses in the vicinity of Bailey Spring and Chassis, as there will be no through access to Maple Street.

While not related to the Crescent Connector project, next week, construction will take place on the bridge over the Winooski River on Route 2A near the power plant. This work will close one lane each day next week from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. starting on Monday, April 15, through Friday. This will impact traffic flow to and from the city on Route 2A next week.

The contractor provides the best prediction of their next work cycle. Please keep in mind that construction is a fluid process and sometimes plans must change based upon weather, conditions found in the field, or other factors.
