| The
Red Clover Picture Book Award, started in
1997, is co-sponsored by Mother Goose Programs,
Windham County Reads, the Vermont Department of
Libraries and the Vermont Department of
Education. Ten picture books are selected as
candidates for the award, and students in
Kindergarten to 4th Grade vote for their
favorite in the spring.
Brownell Library has a three sets of the
books for students to check out, thanks to
funding from the Friends of Brownell Library.
This year's books are on a special shelf in the
Picture Book Room, along with Red Clover Books
from previous years.
The library sponsors a monthly series of
Red Clover Picture Book Programs for
Homeschoolers, from November to March. (Find
dates on our calendar.) Two books are presented
each month, with related activities. Students
vote for their favorite in March. Any student
whose school does not participate in Red Clover
may also vote at Brownell. |
